Maryland is a state which is of great importance to the history of America. Annapolis, MD

Annapolis is the capital of Maryland and one of its urban areas. However Annapolis is not a large city in comparison with many other state capitals and therefore has an interesting mixture of city and “small town” sensibilities. The Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre (also known as Theatre Under the Stars) showcases the work of actors in the community while providing the city’s residents with an entertaining experience. Younger generations often don’t appreciate live theatre so much anymore so these outdoor events are a great way to bring the community together while exposing its younger folks to an appreciation of the arts.

Of course, kids are still probably more prone to enjoy film movies than they are to like live theatre. That’s okay. Annapolis also hosts outdoor movie events which are enjoyed by community members of all ages. The local community college is one group that sets up inflatable movie screens and hosts “movies under the stars” but there are several other outdoor film events to choose from in Maryland’s capital.

Baltimore, MD

Baltimore may not be the capital of Maryland but it is the state’s largest city and is one of the biggest tourist draws to the area. For this reason, it is important to the people of Baltimore that community events do two things. First, they should bring together the people who actually live in the city so that they can get to know their neighbors and create a sense of safety in this urban environment. And second, they must be events which are open to all so that Baltimore’s tourists will feel comfortable participating in them as well. Outdoor movies are a great type of event which satisfies both of these basic criteria.

Because Baltimore is a big city, it has several different types of outdoor movie events. You can find summer film nights in the park as you might expect from any community. However, you can also find local businesses setting up inflatable movie screens and hosting outdoor movie events. For example, the city’s Little Italy Restaurant Association hosts an annual open-air film festival which brings outdoor movies to the famous little dining area. This is a great way for residents and tourists to mingle in one of Baltimore’s greatest neighborhoods.

Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. is the capital of our nation. Although there are many different symbols that represent America, one of the most important symbols is family. The importance of family is a topic which receives great attention by our nation’s politicians and a topic which is of great concern to the general public. As a result, it is of particular importance that Washington D.C. host events which are known to bring families together, both with each other and with other families living in their residential area.

Outdoor movies are a terrific event of this nature. As such, it’s no surprise that Washington D.C. is home to many outdoor film events. The most well-known of these is Screen on the Green which is a summer outdoor movie event held at the National Mall. Classic films are screened here every Monday night throughout the summer in order to create that sense of family bonding that the city emphasizes as being critical to the health of our nation.

Just outside of Washington, D.C. is Bethesda Maryland, a town which has been known to host a number of outdoor movie events.
