In Portland, Bend and other Oregon cities there are parks and town squares that feature outdoor movies as often as every week all throughout the summer. Oregon is a terrific state for outdoor movies because of the great summer weather and the general love for outdoor movies and other outdoor events by people who live in the state. Because of this, Salem is a place which is ripe for development of outdoor movie events. In fact, there are already outdoor movies happening in the Salem area since the Motor Vu Drive-In Theater is located just fifteen minutes away in Dallas, OR. People in Salem are conscious of environmental concerns so it’s no stretch to think that they’d rather skip the drive-in and enjoy an alternative outdoor movie option such as movies in the park. Setting up an outdoor movie event in Salem, OR wouldn’t be difficult. It just requires a little bit of organization, a choice of park or other outdoor venue and the rental or purchase of an inflatable outdoor movie screen. If someone in the area gets motivated, Salem could see outdoor movies as early as this coming year.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.outdoor-movie-screens.com/outdoor-movies-oregon/grants-pass-oregon-supports-outdoor-movies.html"><rss:title>Grants Pass Oregon Supports Outdoor Movies</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.outdoor-movie-screens.com/outdoor-movies-oregon/grants-pass-oregon-supports-outdoor-movies.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

The people who live in Grants Pass would rather be outdoors than indoors so it’s not at all shocking that outdoor movie events held there this past summer drew in a large number of attendees. Grants Pass is known for its ideal location on Rogue River where people go rafting and enjoy other outdoor adventures. Sometimes it’s nice to just kick back and relax, though, so outdoor movies offer that perfect combination of fresh air and laidback activity. The outdoor movies, which were screened in the stunningly beautiful Tom Pearce Park, were only shown two weekends in August. However, the overwhelming positive response from the people of Oregon about this outdoor movie event make it likely that other outdoor movies will come to the area soon. It’s fairly easy to set up an inflatable movie screen and show outdoor movies in different parks almost anywhere in the country so as long as there is the kind of support shown by the people of Grants Pass, there should be no problem getting these outdoor movie events going.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.outdoor-movie-screens.com/outdoor-movies-oregon/2007/9/29/munch-n-movies-in-bend-oregons-mckay-park.html"><rss:title>Munch n Movies in Bend Oregon’s McKay Park</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.outdoor-movie-screens.com/outdoor-movies-oregon/2007/9/29/munch-n-movies-in-bend-oregons-mckay-park.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

Bend is a beautiful city in Oregon which is populated with friendly people who like to get out and about with others in the community. As such, it’s no surprise that the Munch n Movies outdoor movie series (in which movies were shown on an inflatable movie screen in Bend’s McKay Park) was a widely successful event. The idea behind these outdoor movies is that you get there early and listen to live local music (a scene Bend heavily supports) while being served great food by local restaurants. These outdoor movies were dog-free and alcohol-free but that didn’t stop a whole bunch of people from coming out weekly to watch the outdoor films. There was a second Munch n Movies outdoor movie event over in Redmond, Oregon as well. The outdoor movie season has come to a close but they’ve set up a new website where you can check out information about both outdoor movie events when they resume again. These movies in the park are a great way to meet people in the local Bend community whether you reside there or are just a summer visitor.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.outdoor-movie-screens.com/outdoor-movies-oregon/2007/9/29/mactarnahans-beer-and-outdoor-movies-in-portland.html"><rss:title>MacTarnahan’s: Beer and Outdoor Movies in Portland</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.outdoor-movie-screens.com/outdoor-movies-oregon/2007/9/29/mactarnahans-beer-and-outdoor-movies-in-portland.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

Outdoor movies are normally considered family affairs. An inflatable movie screen is set up in a park somewhere and free movies are screened for all ages. Sometimes beer is allowed on site but it’s certainly not the centerpiece of the outdoor movie event. However, beer (along with some specialty food) is precisely the centerpiece at Portland’s outdoor movies screened throughout the summer over at MacTarnahan’s Tap Room. The outdoor movies are free although there’s a suggested $5 donation (which goes to various charities such as Big Brothers, Big Sisters) and the unspoken expectation that you’re going to do some drinking while you’re on site. Getting a little buzz going sure enhances the humor of the outdoor movies screened there (which included Happy Gilmore and The Big Lebowski in 2007). The outdoor movies are done for the summer but MacTarnahan's brings lots of other events to Portland throughout the year and the movies will likely be back in 2008.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.outdoor-movie-screens.com/outdoor-movies-oregon/2007/9/29/multnomah-arts-center-brings-outdoor-movies-to-portland.html"><rss:title>Multnomah Arts Center Brings Outdoor Movies To Portland</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.outdoor-movie-screens.com/outdoor-movies-oregon/2007/9/29/multnomah-arts-center-brings-outdoor-movies-to-portland.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

Summer nights in Portland are beautiful and what better way to enjoy them than to take in a free outdoor movie? The Multnomah Arts Center has just wrapped up hosting another year of First Friday summer outdoor movies. The outdoor movies are shown once a month in Portland starting the first Friday of June and continuing through the first Friday of September. The films screened this year were Shrek 2, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park and O Brother, Where Art Thou?, all outdoor movies which are clearly great for all ages. The movies started showing at dusk and kids enjoyed watching them while snacking on the “bottomless bag of popcorn” served at the Multnomah Outdoor Cinema Snack Shack on site. The Multnomah Arts Center will likely resume the outdoor movie tradition again in 2008 so keep an eye out for their announcements when summer draws near again.

</rss:item></rdf:RDF>
